Why I Will Not Support Buhari, Femi Kuti Tells Osinbajo in Public
Afrobeat singer and the first son of late Fela Anikulapo Kuti, Femi Kuti has came out openly to tell Nigerians why he will not support Buhari.
Femi told Professor Yemi Osinbajo at the African shrine that despite that the Vice President is his friend, he is not supporting Buhari because of his father.
He said the vice president visited him at home.
“Vice President Osinbajo came to me, to my house for support, he’s standing here and I am saying this here, but I told him I can’t support because of my father and he understands but he’s my friend, so he understands,” he told the crowd in attendance.
“He said he wanted to come to the shrine to see what everybody is saying about Shrine and I am happy that he came and saw that we are not crazy here. He said he didn’t know this place was this big.”

This may be connected to the fact Buhari jailed Fela Kuti for 5-Years during his reign as a military leader.
Buhari’s government was behind Kuti’s arrest, and the singer was quickly sentenced to five years amid allegations reported by Amnesty International that witnesses were prevented from testifying on his behalf.
There were even reports that the judge who sentenced Kuti later apologized to him.
“He went and declared to Fela that, ‘Man, you were not guilty, I was under pressure, I was instructed to put you behind bars,’ ” Rilwan “Showboy” Fagbemi, Kuti’s former saxophonist, claimed in 2012. “
‘And as a judge, if I don’t tell you the truth, I will never forgive myself. I came for your forgiveness, forgive me. You did not commit any offense. You were jailed because I had the order to put you behind bars from above.’”
Buhari’s chief of staff was unmoved. “I hope he will rot in jail,” he said.
